Devin’s #MyWorkFlex — true flexibility at Boldly has given me control of my life

Hello! My name is Devin and I am the Recruitment Manager for Boldly, a remote staffing company in the UK and US. We provide a personalised approach to matching our remote team members with roles that support entrepreneurs, small business owners, and Fortune 500 executives. I recently moved to North Carolina with my husband and son where I am learning all about life in a small town.

Flexible working is all about balance. It’s being able to grow as a professional, but also being able to do the things that you love without being tied to a desk all day. I love to go to the gym around 9am. During a 9–5 job this wouldn’t be possible, but with flexible work I am able to build a schedule that accommodates the balance that works for me. And when employees have the freedom to take care of things in their personal lives without stressing about being in the office during a specific time, they are happier and more productive.

Flexible working has impacted my life in so many ways. It’s allowed me to build a career while having the flexibility to take care of all of the everyday life things that can be a big deal particularly when you are a parent. I don’t panic when something comes up unexpectedly because I know I can flex my schedule if I need to.

Is this your ideal working pattern? Or what would your ideal working pattern be?

Yes! I love having the freedom to create my own schedule and flex my time when I need to. I work best in the morning so I start work a little earlier than the typical business hours. Flexible working allows me to work when I am most productive which is a win for me and a win for my company.

Hands down it is the impact it has on my role as a mother. I’m able to be there for all of the little things. I can be there to pick my son up from school, attend extra curricular activities, and take him to any medical appointments without having to take time off. And during a national pandemic it means that I have the flexibility to work and homeschool without having to sacrifice one for the other.

Most definitely, I don’t know any company that has the flexibility that Boldly offers and I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
